I`ve fished for 35 years, fished with the best traps on the market. Thompson Trap, Moose Head and copy-cats but, I thought they had problems.I thought I could do better, my trap is original, here are some things I like..... My trap has a 'Z' stance for better stability, in hole and out. It stands up out of hole so reel spins freely and for visibility. It has picks on the bottom to prevent slipping on ice. My trap has a black flag for sun and snow, and an red flag for black ice and low light. When in hole, one stick across hole for more visibility down hole and easier clean out. My foot has a hard time fitting in hole to brake out ice when I`m lazy and have a little ice build up.HA HA .Like that doesn't happen! One stick ,I like it. My trap sets two different ways, less windy days you can use ring and hook. Windy days, use wind proof device. You can bend spring flag 90 degrees and flag will not trip with device. It has a hook retainer that even works . My hook retainer has flexibility ,your hook never is in same place It comes out of the wood or what ever is available to hook it in.Line never winds up the same. No more tangled traps when setting up. I like it! Just some of the things I like. I have been waiting 10 years , worried about the copy cats. This has a windproof device. In this first picture, the rod goes through the hole in the wood, so hook-up is supported and cannot move up, down or sideways. The second picture shows a quicker way to set the trap.
